Across the vision Film Festival is a festival dedicated to the most research- and innovation-sensitive boundary films. A boundary-understood as mental and cultural horizon, vision and margin-that becomes sign, stylistic figure, language. The festival, in its first edition, aims to traverse the different areas of film production, offering open and engaged programming ranging from independent and experimental works to feature films from the big industry. New trends in contemporary cinema intertwine with each other, relating to past masterpieces that have traced a similar path. In addition, the Festival presents works by filmmakers from the contemporary art world who, sensitive to the language of film, have engaged with it.
Sardinia, located in the center of the Mediterranean, is an ancient crossroads of peoples but at the same time sends back an image of fascinating isolation. It is precisely this duplicity that has attracted the interest of filmmakers and authors who have been able to return its full fascination. The decision to create a new and international festival on the island stems from a twofold objective: to open up, through cinema, communication between different cultures-especially between Europe and its margins-and at the same time to revive indigenous and regional productions.

Historical and Environmental Geomining Park of Sardinia

Across the vision Film Festival was born in the picturesque location of the Consortium of the Historical and Environmental Geomining Park of Sardinia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is partly hosted in the recently restored industrial archaeology facilities. The evocative nature of its landscapes, already the set of masterpieces by the masters of Italian cinematography, was thought to be the ideal setting for the birth of a new Film Festival in Sardinia. The Festival aims to promote the Geomining Park site of historical and environmental interest as a location for national and international film productions and to enhance its transformation processes and potential as a cultural and tourism hub. It also aims for the active participation of the local population as much as the dissemination of Sardinian and Mediterranean film culture and Sardinia as a resource for cinema on the international scene.
