The Last Lamentation

Winner of the Italian Council and destined for the permanent collection of MAMbo in Bologna, Valentina Medda’s ‘The last lamentation’ is a tribute to the “expendable lives” of the Mediterranean, whose voices are made to “explode” through an act of lamentation that becomes collective.

ZEIT was founded in 2008 with the aim of promoting the dissemination of contemporary languages and in particular visual arts, performance and film culture.

Organizes and produces international cultural and artistic projects that investigate artistic production from a transdisciplinary perspective, with a focus on issues of linguistic, cultural, artistic, and geographical boundaries that translates through public intervention, performance, and exhibition.

In 2017 he won with the project
CAMPOSUD
, the I WANT YOU FOR THE MUSEUM’S ARMY – GRAMSCI call for proposals issued by the Cagliari Civic Museums for the 80th anniversary celebration of Antonio Gramsci’s death, which continues in 2021 in collaboration with the MACC Museum in Calasetta.

In 2021 he curates the artistic direction of Abitare Connessioni, the winning project of the Borghinfestival call, General Direction of Contemporary Creativity MIC.

In 2018, he is among the organizers of the MAPPE – music, film, visual arts festival for which he curates the visual arts section and the exhibition MAPS Glimpses of the borders, at Palazzo Litta and Triennale di Milano in collaboration with Triennale di Milano and MIBAC Secretariat for Lombardy as part of Palazzo Litta Cultura.

Across the vision Film Festival
(2012) a film festival dedicated to the most interesting cinematic languages of the current scene, conducting filmmaking workshops, production masterclasses, and showing the most recent and significant cinematographic works related to visionary languages and bordering with visual arts. In addition, together with Compagnia Enzo Cosimi, he creates contemporary dance and performance festivals. He designs and curates from 2013 to 2018 Across Asia Film Festival, extending its scope, dialoguing with relevant international institutions including MAXXI – Museo Nazionale del XXI secolo, Rome with whose partnership he realizes Across Asia Film Festival MAXXI edition. He extends his collaborations to film cultural institutes and international embassies by working with Goethe Institute of Hanoi, Hanoi Doclab, Film Devolpment Council of the Philipines, Sassari Academy of Fine Arts, UP Film Institute, Contagious Inc, RCW Foundation Inc. for the This is not a silent film festival, Manila (PH).

Snapshots

In 2011, in collaboration with the performance group Santasangre and with the Kollatino Underground, organizes the international performing arts festival in Rome. ISTANTANEE – visions of dance and performance, with surprising enthusiasm of critics and audiences with the most important representatives of the Italian and international scene (Michele di Stefano MK, Silver Lion Venice Biennale, Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio, Cristina Rizzo, Enzo Cosimi).
